unpopular opinion but the only reason Brigitte is perceived as anti-fun is because she’s accessible and also she counters the dive heroes who were meta for so long they became the “benchmark” for what is considered fun in Overwatch.
like I agree shield bash shouldn’t go through shields, but a 90% damage nerf on top of this just removes Brig from both of her core roles (backline protection/peeler and frontline threat/backup for her tanks) and leaves her in a weird spot in all areas of play. she no longer fills the roles she used to and is now incredibly reliant on her secondary support to follow up on a shield bash.
this nerf really feels like a knee-jerk reaction to certain comments made by players who tbh I don’t feel considered her role in the game at all and just wanted to be able to play the “fun” heroes again. Brig is a necessary character to ward off dive from coming back after being meta for so long everyone hated it.
however the true problem still lies in the fact that OW doesn’t have enough characters to have a truly diverse meta where a variety of team comps are playable/good at any given time. until we get double the amount of supports and tanks we currently have, OW is just doomed to a cycle of stale metas that feel like they last forever.
